Entity Categories
Entities are automatically sorted into categories based on their assigned role in the current transaction.
Main Category
The Main category contains entities participating in the transaction who are: liable for the debt in a loan transaction, the collateral owner in a loan transaction, or the account owner in a deposit transaction. For example, an Account Owner or Borrower is a main entity.
Related Category
The Related category contains entities participating in the transaction who are signing for main entities in some capacity or are linked to a main entity. For example, a Signer, Trustee, or Attestor is a related entity.
Ancillary Category
The Ancillary category contains entities that may have a contributory part in the transaction at some point, an oversight obligation in the transaction, or are not directly related to another entity. For example, a Power of Attorney, Federal Agency, or Notary is an ancillary entity.
Unsorted Category
The Unsorted category contains entities who have not yet been assigned a role in the transaction. Once a role is assigned, the entity is automatically removed from the Unsorted category and sorted into the Main, Related, or Ancillary category. If all roles are removed from an entity, it is moved back to the Unsorted category.
